Testing Outreach With $20

January 7th, 2009

I’m curious about what kind of day to day readership I’m getting and where it comes from. I can look at web stats, etc. but those don’t tell me much. I want to know how I am actually connecting with people and what you like/dislike.

A couple days ago I set up a Skreened Shop (it’s free, dead simple and anyone can do it) http://skreened.com/eob which has a couple blog related designs. I’ve sold a couple shirts already which is totally cool but what’s better is Skreened hooked me up with one excellent gift card.

So, how would you like to win this $20 gift card to Skreened?

Skreened $20 Gift Card Giveaway!

You would! Alright then, all you need to do is comment below with the following information:

  • How’d you find this post (direct, CU, twitter, facebook, etc)?
  • Where in the world do you live, approximately?
  • What do you like or dislike me writing about?
  • Have you checked out Skreened.com yet?
  • Anything else? Constructive criticism?

Cool, that’s it. I’m going to leave this open till Saturday January 11, 2009. This post is also going up on my http://andrew-miller.com site so if you want another chance to win pop over there and have a look around. I’ll assign a number to each completed comment and draw one out of a hat; you’ll get an email from me if you win and I’ll post about it.

    * Twitter, though I also have your RSS feed on my Google Reader.
    * Clintonville
    * I like the social commentary stuff and your discussions of social media. I don’t live in UA, so I tend not to read the stuff about development in UA as much. But don’t take it out just because of me!
    * I’m not much of a t-shirt wearer, so no, I haven’t.
    * Keep up the great work! You have a gift for writing, and that’s a rare thing.

  3. Suzanne Wiles Says:

    *email, though I would have seen it on Google Reader eventually — I subscribe
    * Columbus, OH
    * I love your social commentary. I also like when you share stuff about your life with your family, such as the updates on your garden. Helps solidify the friendship and help me keep tabs on how things are going. I’m not so into the UA stuff, but it’s not bad by any means.
    * I cruise Skreend but haven’t purchased anything. Love the shirts.
    * You do great work, Andrew.

    Well, I wouldn’t mind a sweet Elephants shirt, so I’ll kick things off.

    1) Twitter – I have adult ADD
    2) Quite near where we both grew up
    3) Well, I don’t live in Columbus, so your heavily local posts don’t always make sense to me. I really like your more philosophical posts about urban development, agriculture and environmentalism. I also really loved your post about bike camping and anything that has pics or video of your beautiful daughter.
    4) I looked at your design, but didn’t poke around beyond that.
    5) You’ve become a really good writer, dude! Just keep pecking away.

    * I found you through skreened via twitter
    * Clintonville
    * I like the architecture/ preservation, local info, and human rights/ philosophy/ politics stuff.
    * I love skreened
    * Not as big on the personal stuff, but i like how your blog covers many different things. It seems to reach a wide and varied audience. I can always skip a post if its not my interest. I really like the links and videos too. I have discovered some sites already.

  15. Jim Ellison Says:

    * How’d you find this post
    Direct – learned of the blog at the Social Media Cafe

    * Where in the world do you live, approximately?
    Clintonville

    * What do you like or dislike me writing about?
    Write away – it is all good. And the good thing is the content varies. I am not a big fan of people that incessantly blog about their cats.

    * Have you checked out Skreened.com yet?
    I have. Great site and great company. A word to the wise – if you wear a Medium – get a Large, Large – XL.

    * Anything else? Constructive criticism?
    Maybe recap the why an Elephant on a Bicycle vs. say a donkey.

  16. diane Says:

    G A L E W O O D !

    The local (Cols.) stuff doesn’t interest me much, but I read a post once in a while. That said, I think that stuff is more important to more people and you should stick to that. I mostly read the personal stuff and dig your ideas.

    Yep, I totally want a drawing of you on my chest.

    Maybe read it out around a campfire in a really loud monotone voice every so often? You do tend to ramble a bit, but you knew that. Also: More MAX MIDDLETON!
